AGERTO is a non-profit, non governmental organization that aims to create lasting solutions to poverty and environmental sustainability. It was founded by a group of youths in 1999 in Agome Tomegbe in the district of Kloto to promote harmonious and durable development. AGERTO encourages development projects to give community members new opportunities for self sustaining futures.

  • Women and children empowerment programs
  • Environmental protection and conservation
  • Communication, broadcasting and advertisement

Upon entering the center, guests are greeted with a warm welcome and a sense of community. The sounds of welding, wood carpentry and sewing machines provoke the feeling of productivity and demonstrate the versatility of accomplishments taking place within the center.

 

With the German and Togolese flags blowing in the wind this partnership is represented. The names of important donors; Togo-hilfe e.v.; and the foundation of Alfon Goppel can be observed on the main wall.

 

 

There is a sense of community and the focus of different missions are easily recognized when being exposed to AGERTO and it’s many disciplines. AGERTO works with other organizations within and outside of Togo welcoming partners from around the globe.
